Girl Scouting’s Highest Earned Awards

The Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards are the highest awards in Girl Scouting. In the summer of 2009,  guidelines were developed that more closely align the awards with the new Girl Scout Leadership Experience.

Girls may choose either the old or new guidelines to complete the process. HOWEVER, anyone using the old requirements with badges, signs, interest projects or focus books must submit their final report by September 1, 2011.

Girls must advise Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana which approach you want to use to complete your project.

After October 1, 2011, the new guidelines will be in effect for anyone starting to earn these awards.

Note:  If you have started working on either the Girl Scout Gold Award or Girl Scout Silver Award using the old guidelines, you need to contact Karly Beaven by 9/30/10

Grade Levels for Earning these Awards
Bronze Award: Earned by Girl Scout Juniors (4th-5th grade)
Silver Award: Earned by Girl Scout Cadettes (6th-8th grade)
Gold Award: Earned by Girl Scout Seniors or Ambassadors (9th-12th grade)
