Support Our Council
Only one organization for girls introduces the possibilities, provides opportunities, teaches teamwork, celebrates individuality, embraces diversity, and establishes lifelong friendships. Girl Scouts does all this in the spirit of fun without any admissions exams, tryouts, and physical requirements! Being a girl is great enough for us.
Each year, we provide over 25,000 girls in grades K-12 with programs and activities that develop leadership, citizenship, and positive self esteem. They participate in community service projects, camping experiences, fitness programs, product sales, individual activities, civic events, and other activities appropriate to their individual needs and ages, based on sound research on contemporary issues facing girls today. We strive to reach every girl everywhere. Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of girls.
How do we pay for all of this? Not a penny of troop dues or the annual registration fee goes to the council (the annual fee goes to our national organization, GSUSA). It costs the council an average of $280 to serve a girl for one year. Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana needs your support and the support of the community to help future leaders of America reach their goals.
A tax-deductible gift helps the Girl Scouts
• Train safety conscious, ethical leaders/mentors
• Maintain eight camp properties for year-round use
• Provide low cost camping, activities, and events for girls
• Provide scholarships for membership fees, uniforms, camp, activities, and events
• Reach out to girls most at-risk to provide skills and confidence for the future
• Provide volunteer opportunities for adults to meet the greatest girls on earth
Gifts to the council can be made online, at a local service center, by phone, or by mail to Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, Fund Development Department, PO Box 32335, Louisville, KY 40232-2335. We also provide flexible planned giving options, the Family/Community Partnership program, and many fundraisers to meet your giving needs. In addition, we have a wish list of items that we need for our camps (see below). In kind donations of items in good usable condition are always appreciated.
