Make Painted Jars
Materials Needed:
A clean empty jar with a shape you like
- Pictures or designs on paper to use as a pattern (you can draw your own patterns, collect pictures from magazines, or print clipart from the Internet)
- Tape
- Acrylic craft paint
- Paintbrush
Directions:
Plan your overall design for the jar. Then tape your paper patterns to the inside of the jar so that you can see the designs through the glass. Using the designs on the paper as a pattern, paint the outside of your glass jar. You’ll basically be tracing the lines on your paper pattern with your paintbrush.
Allow the jar to dry completely before touching it. You can use it as a vase, a decorative container, or just display it as a piece of art. If you have a jar with an attractive lid—or if you can find a cork to fit the opening of your jar—you can fill it with bath salts, coins, or anything else you want to keep a lid on.
