Ceremonies Self-Study Course
A self-study course on Ceremonies was developed for those who are not able to take the class in person. The course uses the videotape "Milestones to Memories." If you are interested in this self-study, you can check out the kit from your volunteer coordinator, complete the guide, evaluation, etc. and return them and the kit to the volunteer coordinator. She will then give you credit for the course. All the reference materials are contained in the kit. There is a charge for the kit if it is not returned in good condition.

Orientation

Required for all leaders

Before meeting with their troop, all new leaders and co-leaders must have Orientation. This course will be offered to you by your Service Unit Manager, Troop Organizer, or Troop Consultant in cooperation with Membership Development Specialists. This course answers important questions new leaders ask about Girl Scouting.

What is Girl Scouting about?
How do we get registered?
How do we work as a team?
What resources do we have?
How do we do things safely?
How do we manage troop money?
How do we plan troop program?
What about travel?
What more is there about Girl Scouting?

Please contact your Troop Consultant, Service Unit Manager, and/or Membership Development Specialist if you need Orientation training. A few classes are offered by each service center.
